Pleasure boat insurance covers private vessels - hull, machinery, outboard motors, tenders and personal effects on board - against loss and damage afloat, ashore and in transit, and covers the owner's liability to third parties.

Demand has grown with marina development along the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf coasts and with the Kingdom's tourism projects. Cover is rated on the vessel's value, age and cruising range, and policies usually set a navigation limit and require the boat to be laid up or secured through the worst of the season's weather.
